I'm new to this forum but have been reading for a while. I have an 89 250 7.3, I had some starting issues that I fixed with some help from a couple of other threads. My problem now is the electric pump that I installed is leaking terribly, its the second one i've installed. My question is what brand should i use, i get a great discount a napa, but the parts guys is lost in space! Any help is greatly appriciated.

The Best Electric Lift/fuel Pump
I have a Facet Dura Lift on mine. Unlike the holley pumps, the Facet is designed for seriously long term continued use, its the factory pump for new Carrier Transcold and Thermoking reefer units and is designed to lift fuel 10feet straight up so you can mount it up high under the hood where it's easy to get to and has a nice filter screen on it that's easy to clean and keep an eye on fuel quality. http://www.facet-purolator.com/mcl/m...lift_sheet.pdf
The Carrier part number is 30-01108-01SV ( Facet # 40223 )
It was a good sign when I went to the Carrier dealer to buy one. The parts guy had to search for quite a while to find it. He didn't know where they were because they'd never had one fail. That's a good sign for pumps that run 24 hours a day .
I have put Chevy framerail fuel pumps they used on their 6.5's on these Fords. I haven't had anybody have one of them fail yet. I have seen them go bad on the Chevys when I work at the dealer but it was very uncommon.

This pump will work well, be sure to install a filter/screen before all pumps that don't incorperate a screen.
I like the NAPA 3270, or the wix 33270, or the Fleetguard 5079, and if they aren't available you can use the Lube Finner 3524. they all are steel canister like filters but have a 120 mesh screen instead of paper. The only problem with these is they are made with 3/8s hose barbs only, now I don't see it as a problem, you may not need clamps. These filter/screens are recommended by the FASS line of pumps for pre-pump protection from dirty fuel. If you go to Glaicer Diesel Powers site and look up there filter you will find a cutaway of these. They are rated @140 micron by WIX and I have seen them listed as 23 micron. the specs on these filter say they are capable of holding 13 grams of crap.
