Hey guys I finally got some shop time this weekend to get a few things done. I got my HPX on and I love it. It really did quiet the truck down, but in a good way. I also went ahead and rerouted the ccv, but I did have one question. How did all of you plug the hole in the intake?
I just used a small bolt with 2 oversized washers, a nut with some locktite, and some RTV. Is this a good idea or not?
One more question, do I have to pull the turbo to gut the EBPV? If not how do you remove the back bolts at that angle?
You do have to remove the turbo to gut the EBPV. Its a lot of work. If your talking about the back bolts on the turbo pedastal the passanger side one I started with a wrench and finshed with a scoket on a universial. The driver side one is not that easy. I think I had to switch to a 1/4 inch drive on a universial because the 3/8 was to large in diameter. This link gives much more information on turbo removal . And good luck, like I said lots of work and lots of tight spots to work in. O, yea, use pleanty of PB blaster!!!
if your just gutting the butterfly valve you can do that with the turbo in the truck. If your gutting the actuator you need to pull the turbo. The butterfly housing is help to the turbo with three bolts and they can be removed and then work on the gutting it on the bench.

You should upgrade the orange hose for the black hose with this Intake Hose, updated black (Replacement hose for above, does not directly replace orange hose)
(Ford) F81Z-9C681-BA
and put a piece of 4" pipe between it and the other intake hose and thats it.
