No kick down

The auto trans in my 91 F 250 2wd 7.3 diesel has no kick down. Is this computer controlled or a manual thing on this model? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

If it is an overdrive trans its the E4OD . If its the E4OD check the FIPL sensor.

Any chance you have a shop manual with a picture? I ask this because there seems to be something missing ont he front of the pump. There is a spring or something that should be there but isn't. It looks like a piece of linkage is loose but I can't find a book that has a picture to figure it out.
