for any of you withthe factory navigation, can you tlel me what it has? Im about to buy a used one in good shape to replace my audiophile in my 2004 SCREW and want to know what im getting/missing?
Factory NAV has a 6 disk changer and a slot for you to place the NAV DVD. Once you are in motion it disables most of the controls for the NAV. No Bluetooth. It can control the factory overhead DVD and you can play DVD and hook up Sirius radio.
I had to put a switch on the VSS wire on the factory NAV in my '06 Expy so that I could use it while driving. It's the CD based unit, but I'm sure the DVD based units are similar. It will stop tracking when you interrupt the VSS signal, but you can use all the features. Once it gets the signal again it will resume tracking.
AVic , i see you have the AVIc.... how do you like it? Im about to buy the AVIC d3. Seems really cool to be able to use the bluetooth and the ipod jack.
It's great, way better than a factory based system because it's easy to bypass. Also, it would seem that Ford and Navteq have stopped providing updates to my Expy NAV. Pioneer has a release every year.
