So I finally started the Fi 460 swap on my truck. I'm also rebuilding the ZF and the 205 while everything is apart. This has become way more of a project than I wanted it to be, but that is how it goes. The motor is out of a '90 F-350, I had it bored .030 over. The whole rotating assembly is ballanced, hypereutectic 10:1 pistons, custom ground comp cam, billet double roller timing set, trick flow roller rockers, comp valve springs, heavily ported E7 heads, ported upper and lower intake, 30 lb/hr injectors, and L&L full length headers. Im also converting it from speed density to mass air using an mustang A9L computer. I'm sure there is some stuff that I'm forgetting but I think I covered the major stuff. Let me know what you think, I put some pictures in my gallery under motor swap/build.
Good work, man. I'll definately be checking back with this thread quite often to see the progress, so make sure you keep us posted. Interested to see how the FI system works out for you.
Any tips on the ZF rebuild? Did you have to get any special tools for it? Since installing the ZF in mine (after following your pics in your gallery, thanks again by the way!) I am thinking of rebuilding it just to freshen it up. I am a heavy duty truck mechanic and rebuild twin countershaft eaton transmissions quite regularly, so i am very comfortable tackling this, just wondering what to watch out for.
Definately get the L&L headers, mine are the fenderwell style and they are well worth the money. Your truck is looking good, nice work and keep us posted!
