I just got my '06 F-250 SD back from the shop. It was in for routine service and last week it got a check engine light. The code was P0299. The dealer replaced the EGR solenoid and cleaned the turbo per TSB 07-16-01. After searching all the TSB data bases I could find, I can't seem to find that one. Does anyone know what it is?
Second question...Last summer I shattered my right leg and as a result the truck has spent most of the last 6 month in the car port. My wife isn't a "truck person" so it's only been driven less the 100 miles since July. I'm suspecting that may have something to do with the problem. Any thoughts??
That lay over could have caused the turbo problem and if your fuel was stale that could have contributed to both. If you had no fuel additives in the tank I would stongly be considering changing the fuel filters once I filled up with fresh fuel and also put some Power Service or Stanadyne in the fuel tank just to be safe. Just my opinion.

Thanks! The tanks (stock tank and 50 gal aux tank) were both filled in July and has the recommended amount of Diesel Kleen added. The filters were replaced when it was in the shop. Now that I can, I will drive the truck as much as possible to get some fresh fuel before the summer camping season is upon us! We usually take a long trip or two later in the summer so maybe I'll replace the fuel filters again before that.
not sure where you live but if you fueled in summer you have summer blend which has a higher temp cloud point. not a good thing if your temperatures change much from summer to winter
