Summer is Coming...AC Top off

I see guys ask this all the time about what the capacity is for their AC system. I remember a Ford TSB years ago but I couldn't find it, but I ran across it again and thought I'd post it for anyone who cares, it's for all engines as far as I know.

Back to top for more eyes on it.

It's great info to know. The older r12 was way better refrigerant. I always out a little more 134a into the older retrofitted vehicles because of this. Sometimes you can get a new orifice and pump, it helps, but it is never as cold from my experience. Better than nothing though.

you will never get as cold on a system that was retrofit. however, a system that is designed properly, and has the right upkeep, will do the job splendidly. This year I am changing out the suction line, and the liquid line, and the condenser. Realistically the evaporator should last forever if taken care of properly. The fs10 compressors on the other hand, those things are a big can of worms.
