Question 250 rear end

Been quite awhile since posting. Have found 69 camperspecial rear to swap in 53 250. Seems awhile back was told this was easiest swap. Anybody have any thoughts. And what is this rear end worth? thanks.

Yup, as Bob said, I swapped one in alreadyon my 52' F-3. Mine was out of a 1969 F-250 standard cab, its a Dana 60, with HD brakes and a Power-Loc differantial w/ 3.54 gears. I have pics of the swap in my gallery, the axle was a simple bolt in.

As for the price, I think they're all over the board. I was looking for a pre-73 F-100 axle for my panel truck for a few years. Every one I saw at the swap meets the sellers were asking between for $300-500. The $300 one were covered in crusty rust and looked like they were sitting in the mud for some time. I just found one, almost like new with new brakes for $75. I don't know how this relates to the larger truck axle, there might not be as must demand for the larger trucks. The small 9" rear axles are very much in demand by every one building hot rods and trucks. I would guess, don't quote me, that you should be able to get one for around $200, or less.

Yeah. picked mine up for $160 complete drum to drum at my local "U-wrench".. probably would have paid more from normal salvage yard or private sale (especially with the locker in it), however the U-wrench has a flat rate for an axle... that and all the work it took to get that SOB home (take a look at the parts hauler pic in the axle swap gallery)
