I know another one of thoes whats it worth threads, but I haven't been getting any hit on this thing in the classified section and Im starting to think That the price is to high.
Im asking 2,500 for it and there is nothing wrong with it.
So what do you guys think??
(1986 F-150 EFI 302)
Thats a pretty custom paint job and chances are anybody thats interested in the truck is not gona want to spend the time or money to repaint it. Not that somebody out there wouldnt like it but its pink and you dont see too many guys cruising around in a pink truck.
Price might be a little high I got my 86 8 yrs ago from the orig owner for $2500.00 its a xl with EFI 302 and AOD trans everything but air all though the paint wasn't a custom job like yours and it wasn't a 4x4.
Considering all of the work that has been done to the truck, new front clip, new bedskins, Brand new engine and transmition, paint job the list goes on thats why I would hate to sell it for anything less.
If it didnt have the paint job I would probably be interetest in it.
Whats wrong with pink, it just makes that ricer you flew by look worse when he seas a pink truck leave him in the dust, and his girlfriend will say "danm, wish i knew the owner of that pink truck" Plus, everybody would be saying (have you seen that PINK truck driving around lately" A guy at my HS drives a 75 250 front half pink back half purple, seeing how it has 12 inch of lilft and 49's, anybody that makes fun of it gets parked on!!
my truck was an 86 3/4 ton HD 4x4 and I got 1600 for it and that took a while. here in denver, the going rate for an older 4x4 no rust no damage is about 1500-2000
In my experience, the only way to make money or break even is to spend as little as possible on it and sell it quick. My 86 was free, I had to install a new trans that cost me 80.00, and I put 200.00 other bucks into it plus the tow so about 400-500 invested. So I was plus 1100 on the truck.
The problem I see is something I have encountered before, 2500 is a lot of money and the higher the price goes, the less people will seriously consider it. Just for perspective, my buddy has a 98 1500 z71 xtra cab 4x4 with 180k and he has not been able to sell it for 5k and thats a lot of truck IMO.
It has aftermarket wheels and brand new tires and is in perfect shape. It's just hard to find people with 5k burning a hole in their pocket.
Your best bet may be to just keep the truck until you find the right buyer...
