soft brakes

After re sealing my ps gear box the truck seems to have very little brake power. the pedel is very soft and the brakes dont seem to grab till im almost on the floor. all the pads and drums/rotars are good whats up?

Pedal to the floor ,usually means rear brakes are out of adjustment...


You worked on the power steering gear box ?....

Those two systems are in no way related in operation. Make sure the rear brakes are adjusted tight

I was puzzled b/c i didn't touch anything on the brakes. i pulled the reardrums a few weeks ago and found the self adjusters broke and hadn't had any rear brakes for some time. i tightened them some but havnt got the tight enough b/c you have to push park brake all the way down to grab.

Even when my rears weren't grabbing at all i had more brake power than i do now. I think the front aren't working right. if i stomp on the breaks i dont feel any kinda nose dive normal
