tool boxes on flatbed
#2
Hey nice truck. I wanna put a flatbed on my 79 but im leaning more toward a utility bed cuz I think it would fit into place a little more. Deweze and Hydra bed both make a tool box thats triangle shaped. I have a Deweze one on my 00 and I've also seen the hydrabed type. Both are really nice but pricey at 500 bucks or so. Do a search for hydrabed or deweze on google I forget the websites.

I bought a metal black powder coated box via princess auto was when mounted costed under $1,000. The box was produced by Buyers. I tried to see if they had a website to buy directly but was unable to. A local weld shop mounted my box below the front driver's side of my flatbed using two saddles and bolting the box securely in the saddle. This box is storage for tow-bar first aid kits and over night bags.
I'm currently working on another box to be welded on the rear passenger sid of the flatbed just behind the wheels. It is an old bar fridge that I bought and traded a new one. I have the old one. II took out the freeone?, motor/electronics, shelfs and all. Is an empty air-tight box, will be mounted on and put to use next summer. Needs a door pulll, two hasps and paint.
