So i bought a Aluminum Flatbed to replace my rotted bed. Its about to blow off going down the road at this point. The new Flatbed is Aluminum with LED lights. I suspect i will need to wire in a load reducercorrect? Also this bed has no fuel spout so i need to fabricate something. Anyone have some ideas? I also plan on installing underbed tool boxes if there is space. thanks Jeff
Technically it would be a load increaser.
But you can buy them at the parts store next to the led bulbs. Sylvania led load equalizer.
You may or may not need them.
For the filler necks, you could use some flat plate.
Do something like this. http://www.fillernecksupply.com/univ...9DMaAq7n8P8HAQ
Remember, the higher up you can mount it, the better. If that means cutting a hole in the side of the bed, so be it.
How does the backup light work with LED? does that need any lod eq? or only the blinkers? I never upgraded to LED an ony vehicle. The flatbed had all led marker backup and tailight/blinkers. I have a 2002 f350. thanks for the fuel filler site that will work great.

You will only need the led load equalizers on your turn signal circuits (Nothing else) so only two are needed. Their purpose is to add more of a load to the flasher so it doesn't blink super fast.
I took a few quick shots of our 6.7 with a flatbed to give you some more ideas on Fuel filler mounting and also the toolboxes
thanks that really helps.... My bed is almost the same except I do not have any fuel filler predrilled. SO i will have to mount it under the flatbed itself with a bracket. I know higher is better and i may have to keep digging on how to tackle that...I have the same truck also even the color..... thanks Jeff
i mounted a set of universal 3 1/2 inch round tail lights to the frame ends on the 04. solved all the issues the LED's in the flatbed dump body caused.
for fuel fill, i currently have a bracket off the frame holding the neck in place. once i get the hydraulic pump installed i may just have the fill on top of the tank and lift the body to fill.
I have used an led flasher relay then you can just switch the relay and thats it. Only for blinkers you need to make the change. All others will be ok without.
I have a steel flatbed but this shows the box placement so I have more storage than i ever need!
I second the LED flasher. I replaced mine 6 years ago with one off of superbrightleds.com and it has worked flawlessly since. You have to pull the radio to get to the flasher, but I figured it was a better route than installing the load resistors.
I would also recommend the LED flasher. Part of the reason I changed our all my lights to LED was to reduce load in the electrical system on the truck. By adding in a resistor to make your blinkers work properly kind of negates that concept. You will need an EP27L, I found the "L" designation on the flasher relay to be crucial in getting mine to work correctly. I got mine from NAPA for about $15, simple unplug and plug back in (can reach mine from the drivers side footwell reaching up towards the dash), no added points of failure in the system....
