Just wondering if anybody out there could give me the specs on these heads? I know the heads make all the difference on these. Are they worth keeping? I was told the motor was a 429 but I'm pretty sure it's 460. Any info would help.
Hello frdlve. Welcome to the site. If you go back to this forum page and do a search on your heads you will find some good information from people who are in the know. Click search up at the top then enter D2VE-AA as your key word and hit search. You can do a search on many different topics you might be interested in. Lots if information.
I hope this helps. Good luck.
Are you sure there not D2OE-AA. If they are D2OE-AA they ar 1972-1974 429/460ci Police Interceptor 88cc heads. With 2.19 Intake 1.73 Exhaust valves. With 2.20 x 1.93 Intake and 2.06 x 1.31 Exhaust port sizes.
Those heads are the only open chamber 385 series heads ever made and very prone to detonation in a performance application. You'll be fine if you're staying at 8.0-8.5:1 c/r in a driver, but go to the earlier ('68-71) or later ('73-78) heads if you plan modifications.
