Whats wrong with a good ol country boy? He is just showing how he likes them. And the fact that he is famous I'm sure has somthing to do with sales. But I dont think people are thinking, O' my tobey keith has 10 f150's I have to go buy one.
That redneck appeals to a certain crowd as does the Dirty Jobs guy.
Personally, I like his music.... (and I wouldn't call myself a redneck) and I'm someone who listens to a wide variety ranging from Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Metalica, Hank Williams Jr., Pink Floyd, the Beatles, native American, etc. Nothing wrong with variety. I was at the 100th anniversity and Ford gave us VIP seating next to the stage of the Toby Keith concert there... was a lot of fun.
When I see a celebrity promoting a product it doesn't change my opinion for or against the product. Its just marketing...
Makes me not want to buy a Ford every time I see that redneck.
Yer funny.
So..my question is... if some heavy metal band or whatever your "bag" is, were to advertise Ford Trucks, would your attitude be the same? Or do just dislike country, because your friends say it isn't "cool"?
nahhhh...nevermind. Don't bother answering. I already know the answer and don't want a flame war over something as goofy as who advertises for Ford.
ROFL.
Now.. I COULD say the same about if Ford use a rapper or one of these gangsta types to sell their product..car, truck ...whatever. So..our musical attitudes match pretty well. Ha.
Buying ANYTHING because a "star" says so, would be nuts. Depending on the star, I may not buy the product anymore. With the exception of my Fords, of course.
Well, I for one own 23 Mercury's because the girl that advertises for them is HOTT!!!!
Might by a few Caddys too, the newer girl that ask does your car turn you on, turned me on
Alan Jackson does own a Ford GT. Even used it in one of his videos. It's white with blue stripes I believe.
Well elemint you made a couple huge mistakes in you post, first using redneck in a bad way on a truck site?!@!?!?!?!
Second dissing on toby.
now I own a ford and am looking to get a superduty this year, based onn the performance of my current truck and a bit more room than the competition. I have an uncle that could get mer a deal on a chevy or gm but Idont fit as well in them, thouhg i have kept my options open. and am still considering everything.
I am though really happy that Toby and Mike rowe are both sponsoring ford as those are two guys Id love to have a beer with!
Maybe elemint would prefer that Barney endorsed Ford Trucks?
Does it really matter who they put in their commercials?
If you make your buying decisions based on marketing, then you prolly have a house full of George Forman grills, Thigh Masters, and are making a killing buying real estate with no money down???
Heck I AM a redneck...Toby is a good ole Okie (I'm from Texas so its close enough for my tastes ) and he has some good music. I also listen to a bit of the wierd stuff...Vivaldi, Dean Martin, Finger11, Front 242, Front Line Assembly, Willie, and local Texas Country. Whatever the radio happens to fall on and sounds good, it is all good.
Methinks Elemint is trolling for a flame war, personally.
I hope not, though. Let's keep it clean around here...
