Sounds like the WIF sensor might be kaput.

I would drain it first. The sensor may or may not be bad. Its right on the frame rail under the drivers door. You only need a allen wrench to drain it.

You don't have to change the filter to empty the water

First off to try to drain it. If it comes back on then more then likely it's gone south on ya. It doesn't take much time in water for those sensor to go bad on you, I'm on the third one now, not a very good design for those sensors.

Some of the fuel headers go bad. Some have corrosion on the sensor. It may be time for a new header.

water-fuel sensor

wait...I just saw on here there is a service bulletin or recall notice for the water sensor. Look up the SB's and recalls. Mine used to do it all the time....I'd drain it, under the driver's door. I would find a little water....I'd switch gas stations, and it'd come back..then I'd drain it again... a little water. i finally gave up playing with it. It went out for about 9 months and just started up again about two weeks ago.

There is a SB on this. The sensors are bad. I've had my entire assembly changed out and it still comes on. I'll be taking it back again.

I had the same problem. I had to take it off and take it apart. A build up of goop in there about like crisco oil. After I cleaned that out no more problems. You had better pick you up a O ring kit from the dealer to put it back together with.
