If you really got stage two split shots, you better be planning on big oil, or else you will see check engine lights galore. Those babies want oil

Changed Waistgate and wheel on turbo. I am thinking I will end up changing out the turbo though. After I installed the turbo upgrades my buddies almost beat me to death for not going all the way. I looked up the H2E and it sounds solid. Purchased everything from AMJ Performance... I had already paid for the new injectors when he had found out they were back ordered and everything else was already on its way.. Besides I needed the truck to move some horses ASAP so I just bit the bullet for now. Chris at AMJ said that the injectors he sold me were just as good as the single shots if not better. Is this right or was he blowing smoke back up my tail pipe?

See if you can get the detailed specs on the injectors you got, and there wont be any confusion. Anybody that sells performance injectors, are usually pretty proud of them, and should have alot of details about them. (IE nozzle size, cc's of fuel, split or single shot etc)

Yeah, they are if you have big oil to run them. Split shots use a lot of oil so I too will be curious as to what you got. $1500-2000 is nothing to sneeze at for big oil.

I just wanted to say the issue of the p0603 , p1316 code was very helpful when i scanned my truck when it was doing the same things as you. Found it very helpful ans just wanted to say thank you to all that have contributed to this forum. I took everything apart and found the injector plug was half off so i fixed it and was on my way thanks again. Eric

Red face

I was told that the singl shot injectors were 230cc with I believe .75 nozles and the split shots I got were 160cc with .75 nozles. Chris said that the way the split shots work they would produce more horsepower than the single shots. What I think happend was the injectors I ordered from them were on back order so he purchased them from another company, I cant think of thier name but thier logo had a horse with big biceps, and he didnt have any specs for the injectors on his website but he rattled them off to me on the phone. I was going to send everything back until he he gave me money back for the troubles as well as a smoking deal on the FASS 150gph fuel system and a boost fooler I am still waiting for.

No, he meant .0075" nozzles. Single shots can be anything from 98cc to 500+ cc, it doesnt matter. Split shots is just the barrel design that releases a small bit of oil volume to pause the injection event to make it a "split-shot" instead of just one single shot. Split shots, no matter how large will always sound sound somewhat like a stock injector. Singles sound cooler, use less oil and make more HP per $$.

I have been looking at aftermarket HPOP's and have found three that interrest me. The first one is the SPD Stealth stage 2 (http://www.stecherperformance.com/Ne...lth_Pumps.html)

And the second is the ATS Twin HPOS /www.atsdiesel.com/ATSWebsite/ProductsFord/Injectors.asp

And last but not least is the CPR Pulse HPOP http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?...ROD&ProdID=827

What do you guys think? I like the idea of having a single high output pump instead of trying to run twins that perform the same.

I am liking the idea of the Pulse. I've had bad luck, (seems to be only me though), that has had this bad luck with twin pump systems. Something about a leak between them??

Run far away from ATS. They are selling the Terminator HPOS under their own "title", for $3307, where you can get a set of new reman pumps assembled for $2495 and great service. You can even see the TERMINATOR Patent Pending in the billet block in the center.

The sound of the injectors matter less to me than drivability and smoothness of the idle and all around running. But the thing that really matters to me is the fact that they make less horse power. I will be very unhappy if when I go to the dyno this weekend the truck isnt running around 450 horse. Does that sound realistic?

Thanks Strokin_it7.3
What do you think of the Stealth? Sounds like they are new.

No you will be very disappointed. I don't know who's doing the tuning, but if you are running DP Tuner's files (best you can get IFTEO (in FTE's opinion ) you will be suprised if you can even get to 400hp. With that stock turbo and stock exhaust housing, stock oil on big split shots, youre getting a very smokey, choked up 390ish HP.

Stealth had a twin-stock pump in front-back design, i don't know why they stopped producing it, but now they are going with three stages of single pumps. For what i plan on doing i'd need the stage three pump anyway which is the price of the BTS or Terminator HPOPs, so why not just go with a proven one? I think you'd only need the stage one though if you arent going any bigger than stage two splits. it's like 50% more oil volume, or something. BTW, the Pulse pump is cheapest out there plus it claims to support up to 250cc, a stock B code.

Are you starting to "leak" already Kris? You had a big oil system before. Oh well, will whatever you are doing be done when you go to Smokin?

How much HP can you make with the PMR'S since I see you have an '02'. When I start with mine I don't want to have to worry about the rods finding there way to the outside world..
