Can anyone share how to resolve error code P-1748. My '97 CCSB PSD's E4OD trans wont shift beyond 3rd gear and my OD light is flashing. What is the next step in troubleshooting/repair? Is this a dealer servide item?
Since this is dealing with the Electronic Pressure Control aspect, check the tranny for any loose electrical connections, worn or broken wires, stuff like that.
I'm not having much luck finding anything more regarding what to do about a P1748 code. I found the description in a list of 2002 DTCs that I have.
Neal, Joe, TJ, a little help here guys. Any ideas?
The Service Dept wants to preform their own diagnostic to to chart a course for repair and quote a price. But they don't have any of the above parts in stock saying it will be 2 weeks( this is Baja so I am thinking 3-4 weeks ). Will a dealer be able to better diaonose the problem or is that a Stealer crock of mularhkey? Am I facing the potential to replace 1 item at a time? Should I consider having all three replaced? I need my truck for work and can't afford it down for weeks on end...
since you already have the code you can do most of the diag on yuor own with the ford manual. i dont have an online manual but some guys on here have them and can post the page you need to do diag, i dont have my book handy tonight, its out with a friend but i can check the manual for procedures if nobody else chimes in.
oh, and one more thing, with that code, if memory serves me, you either have a wiring issue at the solonoid connector on the right side of the trans or you have a bad solonoid pack. but dont quote me, as thats all from memory
