Strokin, might have to try that, 350 for the coatings sounds kind of steep... and I'll have plenty of time to do research.

My '01 PSD had that tick and it was diagnosed as #8 inj. I drove it like that for 187,000 trouble free miles and sold it to a friend when I got my '05 6.0. Now i have the '08 PSD and so far it is a great running vehicle.

Did the "tick" clear up/quiet down after the drive/manifold presure came up?

Your leak is probably so small, the smaller parts that heat up fast (IE up pipes, donuts) expand and will leak until the corresponding opposite part (usually cast iron- collector, manifolds, cylinder heads) reach equilibrium and expand to take up the leak.

Could be, and it wasn't loud compared to the v10 I heard the other day!!! and only under power.

EDIT: I can get brand new manifolds for $225 at the dealership.
