Chris, you putz, you have a locker. It just means your truck is hooking up like it should.
I've been trying to get a good picture of betsy lately. For some reason I can't capture a good shot. I think I need to take the truck somewhere where there's a prettier background.
Might help if I wash her, too. lol
This summer you need to head down to Monroe County to get some shots with me. There's a creek and a lot of fields.
Even with the locker, I would think that truck should spin the tires easily with that ratio. my last 351 3.55 setup could burn both tires all day long.
yeah well i cant figure it out. it feels like it has no low end power. when i floor it it feels like nothing. now when im cruising and then floor it i really feel the power. its almost like the timing is off some. im gonna readjust the timing hopefully this weekend to 12* and see how it runs then.
It stays locked, Mr. Louis. One tire always drags like that when I'm taking a tight turn.. It doesn't mean I'm losing traction, it just means both tires are turning at the same time, so one side or the other is going to chew up the dirt / gravel / cats / babies.

ahh makes sense now that i think of it. if i didnt know you had a locker the gravel would make it look like the pass. tire started spinning.
You can tell it has trac, it was the inside wheel that was slipping!
If you're losing traction, and both wheels have power, it'll generally be the outside that spins first, since it has further to go.
Of course, these pictures show why I'm sort of hesitant about getting a locker. I'm leaning more toward a mechanical limited slip that doesn't use clutches.
My first truck: 94 302/E4OD 4x4 40/20/40 seating. Sold it a couple years ago and still miss it.
Yes! Another Calypso/Tourmaline '94. Did yours have a manual T-case or electric? Mine has the same specs as yours, and now I know it will look great with a toolbox.
I'm still not sure about that... I thought an open diff would favor the outer wheel?
which ever wheel can spin easier. in bills case, most of the weight is on the outer wheel and the inner is barely touching the ground.
as we all know, weight=traction. so the inside wheel would start to spin if it were open. i know this for a fact because i would park like bill has done all the time in my old 93.
