mine looks halfway decent in a picture but in person its rough. real rough. it needs a drag link,4 shocks, pinion seal is startin to weep, the sending unit in the front tank is bad, no carpet, previous owner spraybombed the engine compartment, its a wreck. i put about 2 hours in a day cleanin up the overspray, sanding it etc etc. i gotta do a little bondo work on a couple small dents. just another nightmare.

My "new" 1991 F250 SuperCab
I bought this last week for only $500. It was a knock-down price because the truck has some issues:
1. The electric driver's window is stuck in the down position.
2. The vent window is broken. (I have a feeling the owner's son-in-law did it trying to figure out the stuck window.)
3. The wipers are on the blink.
4. The truck was out of coolant, and ran strangely as a result. (Ran fine once I put water in the radiator and the water temperature sensor had valid data again.)
5. The cruise control doesn't work.
6. The turn signals don't work.
7. AC doesn't work (no surprise).
8. Looses coolant at about one quart per 50 miles.
Aside from these issues and some slightly rough paint here and there, the truck is grimy but straight. It drives very nicely for a $500 truck. It'll drive even more nicely with a little TLC. The only "issue" that I won't be able to fix is the cruise control. Anyone know of diagnostic software and hardware schematics for that system?
It's a 1991 F250 SuperCab with a 7.5 fuelie and an E4OD tranny. I was looking for a cheap truck to back up our Range Rover to tow the horse trailer, and to haul gravel, sand, compost, and building materials around. It'll sit six days out of seven, which is a good thing because I can't afford the fuel consumption of this monster for everyday driving.
Here are some pictures in my gallery:
The interior is complete and undamaged, but it is grimy. It was originally blue-gray, but it's half brown with ground-in dirt and dog hair now.
I've got a garbage bag over the driver's window, and it is keeping most of the rain out for now. I already bought a wing window at the junk yard, and if we get a sunny afternoon next weekend I'll put in it. The electrical troubleshooting should be fairly straightforward on the electric window.
The hood paint is really beat up form gravel damage. That will need some TLC this summer.
The front turn signal is broken. I'll have to find one of those soon. It'll get more important after I diagnose why the turn signals aren't working.
This is the truck's best angle. The rear is straight and beautiful. It has a nice bed liner and a nice hitch receiver. The truck even came with a weight-distributing hitch and all the hardware. The bed is drilled for a fifth-wheel hitch but didn't come with it. The kids opened that rear slider on the road and had a good giggle at the air flow.
It's nice to have a Ford truck (that works) again.
