Yep you could just as easily do it to the front bumper. The reason I did the side was the garage I park in i just fit front and back also with the snow plug stuff on I have enough hanging off the front.

Ask for a "Marinco on-board charger outlet" Marinco is the brand name. This unit is a surface mount male plug rated at 15amps.

might be able to find them cheaper but that is just what came up in a quick search. The one I linked is the brand that many firetrucks use.

Thank you Tim. Just yesterday someone asked me "what's that cord for?" I told them what it was, and that I hadn't figured out what I want to do with it. I want it so I can just pull the cord out and not worry about pulling the wiring out. You just gave me my answer, thanks man.

Just found this topic by searching, great idea! I have just orderd one of these ...

I am not sure yet where is the best place to mount it. I really just use the truck as towning truck and do not use it so often and will be one of the candidates forgeting the plug in, so this automatic plug is perfect for me!

Off topic a little but this thread reminds me of the time I was flagged down by a guy. I rolled my window down and he said I was draging a line behind me. I pulled over and it was my dog's leash, thank god my dog was inside the cab with me!!!!!!!!
