The others all work the turn signal switch, and yes they did change colors between years, though they work the same.
I did some quick internet searches and couldn't find a true wiring diagram. Someone that has a "builders' book will have to chime in with the actually wire layout. If you don't get any response here, then maybe check Ebay for actual wiring book and purchase it. Usually not to expensive and might be worth having around. Most of the bigger aftermarket restorer distributors carry the books.
Even something like this: http://www.classiccarwiring.com/ford.php

Fast forward 16 years and this post is 1/2 of what I am looking for. The steering column in my '68 F250 does not look original. The wiring is the same as 2coolcars describes. I am hoping someone has determined what each of these wires if for. I am installing a new wiring harness so I need to know. Thanks for any help you can provide!
https://www.fordification.com/tech/w...ghts_81-85.jpg is what I used on my 69. For the most part it's accurate. Depending on accessories and what trim level you had, there might be some things missing. At least it has the column in there for most of the wires that run through that.

First we have to figure out which column you have. Since you say it doesn't look original. Post some pics of it. It may be a tilt column out of a 78/79. Try pushing the turn signal lever forward towards the dash. If it is tilt the steering wheel will shoot up hard. So hold on to it.
BTW, when you post the pics I mentioned you really ought to start your own thread.
