Which programmer? 2008 F150
I just picked up my 08 Screw 4x4 Lariat. It is the best yet. Of course I have had it for a day and I am already wanting mods. Lets hear some real experiences with programmers. I am leaning toward the Edge Evo with the dash pod but not sure yet. What are MPG and power increases you have seen/felt with your programmers?

It's your truck so you can do what you want, but be aware that if you use a programmer it may void some parts of the factory warranty. Software swaps can be detected even if you put the factory setup back before taking it to the dealer.
I'm an ex parts manager and warranty administrator, i've seen it happen. Enjoy your new truck.

man i can tell you there are alot of different opinions out there about programmers. i would really take the above article to heart i waited till my factory warr was over to start my mods. I an very happy with my edge evo the HP stated was 35 with my K&N CAI ti might have been more than that. The biggest difference other than the HP was how it tighten up the trans now it shifts much tighter and more like a sports car. Being able to change the rev limiter and bump up the timing to go along with 93 octane was a plus if you have any questions please just let me know and I'll do my best to answer them. 2005 F150 4.6L
To answer you question about the MPG I don't know what the sticker said for your truck but with the cruise set at 65 on varible incline terrian on a 50 mile run I averaged 21MPG I hope to have My Efans and under pullies in by march to increase it to 23 or 24 MPG and 315HP

I installed the Edge, and put a cai and exhaust on at 5000 miles. I don't care about warrenty problems. They can kiss my rear. Ford built a nice truck, with GOVERNMENT standards. Now that you OWN it you can tell the government to go to hell, and put the mods on that you want. Happy trucking!

the problem with the edge is you can't adjust the air/fuel ratio like with an sct or diablo programmer. I would stick with a more traditional, more capable tuner like SCT's or diablo... ask around the people that have the JLT cai and the sct tuner... tucker from JLT did post some real dyno sheets, not the goofy looking stuff that Edge put out. just food for thought.
