I just bought an 2015 F250 4x4 6.2L (gas) I am thinking about buying a programmer/tuner for it. I am planning on taking the truck pulling a 28' camper to Florida this summer. My goal is to get the most gas mileage I can out of the truck. Does anyone have any recommendations or experience with programmers?
Im with ya on looking into them, so far I have seen a few but mixed bag on most of the major brands. I have heard there is a sponsor here that does a great job and unfortunately its slipping my mind at the moment...it has a 5 in the name thou.
edit: went hunting, 5 star tuning is what has been told to me to contact.
If anyone goes ahead with it, post back with your result. I'm not considering a tuner at this time, but might be before next year's Florida vacation where I'm pulling a 7x18 enclosed with 2 or 3 Harleys plus luggage for a few people.
Just like they said 5 Star Tuning. I`ve bought one when I first got my `11 SD Super Crew 4x4. It works real nice on the street and for towing. I pull a 20' enclosed race trailer most of the summer months . It really helps on gas mileage .I get 14.5 to 16.5 mpg around town and get 12 to 13 towing . When I forget to change to towing mode it goes down to 9 to 10 mpg. I have 3.73 gearing and one size bigger tires than stock. I forgot it`s all stock except the K&N filter. Hope this helps. Gasserman
