So we all talk about how much we love our trucks, and what we do to fix them, but I just read another thread that got me wondering. If you could take componets from ANY manufacture facility and make them work with each other, what would it be???
I would think that it would have to have the tranny from an early 2000s ford explorer, paint by dodge, and we would have to have the EBV from our trucks on it, becasue this thing has to be worthless........any other ideas??? What motor? Whose axles? Perhaps a dodge interior??
Are we talking junk vehicles or good vehicles. maybe both?? Worst vehicle that could be built with parts from anywhere....... Chrysler K-car!!! LOL HAHAHAHA its already been done!!!!
Dammit TJ, You dont follow directions......LOL
this is THE worst part to build a car. Parts that rank in the TOP 5 of worst parts, (K car) dont count. They have to be NUMBER 1 on the list.....Geez...........LOL
dodge auto tranny, the old gm 350 diesel as previously listed, dodge interior, late 70's chevy body, dana 30 axle, early 90's chevy paint, late 90's 3 part frame that breaks, i think this is a good list
OHhhhhhhhh what about the late 80s toyota truck bodies??
I heard a rumor that the reason that they rusted so badly was because the cabs were made of the china steel and we built the beds, or maybe it was the other way around, I cant remember
x2 on the early 90's chevy paint. I think that would include some late 80's also. how about early 90's chevy electronics, printed circuit taillights and wiper motors.
Stick it all on a vintage Land Rover frame. I never owned one, but I understand they were hollow, and thus filled up with water and rusted from the inside out.
Land rovers are awesome dude. So many of the old old ones are still going today.
They are all made out of stainless steel.
They didn't always have the best power plant, but ehh..
Well, dont forget we need an old nova frame for this truck, then it can be all tweaked out from one drive through the ditch.
Dodge interrior does suck, i'll second that.
But any nissan interrior is rancid!
old dodge paint wasn't to great, around 87ish. and i think the chevy paint you guys are refering to was 93 and 94., where it pealed and left the primer.
80's dodge bodies were one of the worse also.
So rarely seen now days, well here in michigan atleast. I think they fell appart.
Hmm, a body made of steel from a '74 Chevy truck, a rotary engine from a Mazda RX2, with the 2 speed auto trans that came in my old Falcon. Add some uncomfortable low back bucket seats from 65 Barracuda, a leaky vw beetle fuel pump, a wiring system from a Austin Healy, a Dodge 7 1/4 rear, and a gas tank from a Pinto.
I second Tj's entery. My old man swears that his 1985 ford f250 was made completly with spare part from the junk yard, and is the worst vehicle everbuilt.
89 Taurus. I had one of those and went thru the entire fuel system many times. It vapor locked all the time when it was as cool as 70 degress outside. Once a 50cent tranny line fitting blew at night, so I didn't notice tranny fluid on the back window. Burnt the tranny that time. Biggest POS I ever owned.
