2000 Excursion 4 wheel drive/Hub problems?

2000 Excursion 4 wheel drive/Hub problems?
I've had problems with my front engaging 4x4 wheel drive when in 4x2. I replaced the hubs and front bearings and seems problem has returned. Recently when driving on highway I experienced alot of noise in right front... had brakes checked but was told they are fine. I removed my front hubs and noise in right front went away but now have intermittent noise similar to a weak car horn... or rubbing sound in left front. I am currently driving with my hubs removed. Any help would be appreciated. Is this vacuum or trans case?... bearings?
