00 Excursion 4x4 Hub noise
I replaced my stock hub lockers with warn hubs. A week later i'm hearing a clicking rattling noise coming from the hub when i hit a bump in the road. I pulled the warn and put the OEM hub back in place. Same sound. I jacked it up and spun the wheel in place with the hub in place. The sound is made when the 4x4 shaft spins momentarily even though the hub is not locked. The shaft in the hub wobbles a bit. In fact i have to lift up on the shaft behind the wheel to get the hub to slide in place. I'm supposing there's a bearing there that i need to replace. I can remove the locking up altogether and the sound is gone. The main wheel bearings are only a couple years old.
