P1537 Code on 01 Ranger
I searched the forums and found some good info on this subject but I was wondering if anyone could give me some detailed info on how to check the sensor and fix the problem. Is the sensor/actuator located at the back of the intake next to the firewall? I looked at what vaccum lines I could see and they looked ok. Is there a cleaner I could run through the intake to help this out?

01 Ranger 2.3L 16 valve auto 2wd 188k miles

Are you sure that is the code? p1537 is not a valid code for an 01 ranger.

you may have a late build 01. That code has to do with the intake secondary manifold runner control stuck open.
