Could anyone tell me what the differences between a 68 and 72 F250 would be? Is the body exact same except for the front end? Interior all the same? Anything else?

1968 thru 1972: Powertrain is the same, sheet metal is the same. The major difference is the grilles.
1968/69's have steel painted grilles for Standard Cabs, anodized aluminum grilles for Custom Cabs.
1970/72's have plastic grilles.
1967's, while looking the same as 68/69's have some differences, mainly in the V8 engine and transmission. The doors look like 1968/72's, but are different internally. The rest of the '67's sheet metal is the same as '68/72.

Most of the differences are insignificant. In 1970, the lower side reflectors were replaced with lights at the end of the "bumpside". The reflectors below the taillights were smaller. The steering wheel was changed in 1971. The F O R D letters on the front of the hood are slightly larger on 70-72s. All of the trim packages are different beginning in 1970.
There seemed to be so few of those that I never noticed that. I have a 71 equippped that way junked out in a field. I'll look for that the next time I go out there.
must have been a popular thing to do then because i have seen a ton of pre 69 or 70 with high fillers, both in person and in the galleries on here. but you learn something new every day.

Fey Bumper Co. sold a kit to install one or two tanks...one on the right, one on the left. The dead give-away is all these types have the filler necks above the bump.
Look at it this way = There are only 2 left quarter panels for 1967/72 8' Stylesides.
One has the cutout BELOW the bump for the filler neck, the other doesn't.
Besides, why would Ford bother changing the placement of the filler necks?
Factory photos ALL show the filler neck below the bump: 1967/72.
The parts catalog ALSO shows the neck below the bump.
hipoparts.com sells the 1964/72 truck parts catalog on a CD.
Buy one of these and you can see for yourself.

The only difference I have seen in the trucks from 68-72 are the drivers. Everything else is pretty much the same. Heck when it comes right down to it my truck is a 68-72 according to the parts I have on it.
I would imagine a few of those after-market kits were sold, and perhaps that is why the filler tube is so high. I would think Super Parts man will be a hard man do defy when it comes to fomoco parts, and there assemblies.
Number Dummy is as good as gold, when he doesn't know a part no. it must have been a ford oversite!! Bill---hey what is part no. for -71 f100 gas pedal assy. that bolts pedal to floorboard? sorry for highjackin' the thread!!! Bill
I believe the steering wheels are different from the 68-72s. The older trucks had the bigger three spoke steering wheel with the horn in the inner steering wheel. The 72 trucks had the newer more modern steering wheel with the bar across an the horn in it.

2 spoke with vinyl horn pad (except '75/77 w/speed control): 1971/77 F100/350 / 1975/77 Econoline / 1974/77 Bronco

Is your gas pedal really bad...or is just the spring missing from behind the pedal?
C7TZ-9725-N Gas Pedal Assy w/Bracket ~ 1967/71 all F100/350 / 1972 before serial #P60,001.
C5ZZ-9735-D .. Gas Pedal only / Same as 1965/68 Mustang / Fits: same as above.
C5ZZ-9760-B .. Gas Pedal Spring / Same as 1965/68 Mustang / Fits: same as above.
The spring fits behind the pedal, it keeps the pedal level by keeping pressure on it. When the spring fails, the pedal flops around.
N.D.---the cast assembly that bolts to the floor-board is actually snapped off. Like some-one moved it back and forth till it snapped. Thanks N.D. and when is all FTE going to know that you are the man--parts man for Stude/FORD and God only knows who else--maybe Farmall AND jOHN DEER and IBM---lol Bill----must get my coffee---back was bad last night and no sleep!!!! VERY WINDY and Finally got cold -like winter again!!!
