Cool thanks ill probably wait till tomorrow, its probably not a good idea to drop the tank and do this mod in the garage and let it sit overnight with hoses all open everywhere and install in the morning????

Benny - You may have read this already but mark the ring & the top of tank b4 you take it loose and when you go to put it back together line up the thread starting point(if that makes any sense) Youll know what I mean when you see it.

To lower and raise the tank I used some of the ratcheting tie down straps. The kind of strap you may use to secure a load in the back of your truck bed. Doing it this way made things easy and I didn't have a jack getting in the way

I just pumped the fuel into a couple 5 gallon jerrycans using the fuel pump. The plastic tank is super light when empty and I easily handled it myself. I did use my floor jack to help hold it in place while I bolted the straps back in place. It was a lot easier than I was expecting.

firemediceric - Great idea about the tie down straps. Doing it alone next week.

And Joe - Like your idea about using the fuel pump to empty tank. Did you just run a hose from the fuel bowl drain? I thought I would lower the back on the tank just enough to let some of the gunk, if any, to settle away from the pick up.

I used a motorcycle/ATV jack. There was about 5-8 gallons in it and it worked great. The PVC pipe cutter is a must to trim off the vent tube, cut it slicker than...well

tbirdage - The motorcycle/ATV jack is another good idea. I don't have one but my neighbor does.

Ok fuel mods done, took 3hours with a helper. No leaks, gauge works, i think im good. My question is i did everything to the book.... on restart it seemed to miss a little, it warmed up, then took off to the gas station and i had no power still seemed to miss, egts were HIGH. Got to the gas station, fastest fillup in history btw, thanks pvc cutters I cycled the pump a few times before initial start then a couple more at the gas station. Power came back on the way home, egts dropped to normal. Then the KNOCK as loud as ive ever heard it for a few minutes, pulled into the driveway and it quit so i let it run for probably 20min @ idle to see if i could get the air out. It seemed to quiet down so i shut it down. Am i OK, should i still cycle the pump a couple times before starts for a day or so what do you guys think? Are these results typical?
