I'm trying to find a new two "nipple" vacuum valve that is used to run the block off plate for the hot air riser on the end of the air cleaner housing. So far I have showed the old broken one to the parts guys at Pep Boys and Auto Zone and the all got that blank "what's that thing look." So I'm hoping that you guys can point me in the right direction or hook me up with a part #. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

It's called an "Air Cleaner Temperature Sensor". Should be able to locate at either Napa or advance auto (partsamerica dot com) Ours for a 1975 F250 with a 360 is listed with Advance Auto.
Word of warning? Most PepBoys locations in my area wouldn't know a fuel pump from a water pump. We took our fuel pump IN to the location and the parts idiot did not know what it was!?!?! AutoZone didn't show the part for ours...but Napa is pretty much a safe bet for some harder to find parts. Otherwise sites like RockAuto are pretty sure to have it.
if you are needing the vacuum check valve, most parts stores should carry a generic one in their "Help" section. Just get the correct size for your vacuum lines.
I'm looking for the one that has both ports on the same side and on my particular setup mounts in the back of the air cleaner housing. It's used to control the block off plate at the end of the housing that brings in the air off the passenger side exhaust manifold.
See if that part matches what you are trying to do. Both vacuum hoses--one hose goes to the intake manifold 'port', and the other hose goes to the flap valve at the end of the air cleaner snorkel. The temp sensor regulates air to the flap valve and that's what opens and closes that valve.

That part that is not labeled in Mil1ion's photo? That's the valve I posted about. One hose to a port, and the other hose will go to the flap vacuum deal in the snorkel of the fresh air intake.
Go to the website PartsAmerica, enter in YOUR model/make/engine type and that should tell you the exact one you need. The one I posted? Is listed for a 1975 F250 with a 360. But it's pretty much going to look the same. Remember the "Blue and White" information, as it might be needed. Ford/MotorCraft enjoys using color codes on many of their parts. So the blue/white might come into play.
(Plug to Mil and Numberdummy...They have all the factory part numbers listed which are the exact ones Ford used. When in doupt? Go with the guys with the parts catalog)

The vacuum valve is on the end of the air cleaner duct (Ford calls the duct a shroud).
See my post above. Part number, prices and where to get it posted.
If the OP is talking about something else...what exactly is it?
That's what I would like to know? I'm working off memory of our air cleaner that we had to junk due to rust. It had the vacuum servo (sorry, that's what my tech instructor always called it LOL) At the end of the shroud. Kinda looks like a large hockey puck with a vacuum line attached. Under that unit is an arm that controls a 'flap' that diverts the air flow. Either from normal outside air, or pulling the air from across the exhaust manifold area to act as a 'preheater'. The controling valve itself is located within the air cleaner itself. Using one 'in' vacuum line and one 'out' vacuum line. It resembles a small disc with two vacuum hose ports on it.
That's pretty much all the detail I can offer? I found the replacement controler for the 75' we have with the 360 at Advance...And yes the ford direct replacement would be a better choice.
