Watching snow fly... LOL.. I had to wash about 10 lbs of road salt off the company van I drive this afternoon...And no sooner then I washed it off? It started snowing again.
You're lucky to have a decent set of parts guys you deal with at the dealership. Our local dealership's been a full pain in the tuckas with our two fords. (the '92 probe GT we retired due to rusted frame, and our project) Everytime I ask them about something? I always---and I mean ALWAYS get treated like the red-headed stepchild. And shown the door after being told "Sorry our parts catalogs only go back 10 years".

email me all the info for the parts you need, I'll see what I can find.
The "old' 10 yrs BS = Ford still supplies ALL the dealers with every parts catalog from 1948.
What has happened since puters came in, is the VIN number's of all the newer piles can be typed into the system.
All the part numbers for whatever the customer is looking for, come up on the screen.
This means the PIN HEADS don't have to look any part numbers up!!
It's ALL done for them...and so, they don't know diddly chit.
They just shine on the customers with "older" vehicles, where VIN numbers don't apply.

LOL...I already knew the local dealership was full of "Stuff". I had questions about our 1992 PGT and they feed me that line. So I went to a dealership in Syracuse (sadly closed last month) and they typed in the stuff, and the parts listing did show up.---granted it had what I needed listed as not available any longer-- But they did tell me of local suppliers that could "make" the parts needed using the old parts as a guide! (now that's good service) They did let it slip they could back track pretty much anything down for a while back. The local shop? Only seems to care about their own customers that spent money on their new car/truck. Everyone else gets shoved to the side.
As we nose dive into this truck--granted until my sister finds a house to live in with her doggies--it won't be anytime soon-- The garage I was using (heated LOL) was converted to a small kennel for several of her smaller dogs. At any rate? I'm sure to have questions and it's great that people here actually CARE and take an interest in helping out. That and the sponsers (Green sales, and National Parts) seem to have quite a bit of what I was told by several parts houses? "Gee that's gonna be hard to find".... Well..not really! Just need to know where to look!!
That is the great thing about being friends with the back counter parts guys. Last time I was in there I got a case of Mercon for my neighbor's F-250 for $20. Fortunately for me two of the three back counter guys will try to find me anything they can when they have time. The third guy will help me out if I'm in the dealer. So if there is stuff that I can help you guys with, since most dealers won't, let me know.

FTE has two Ford dealer parts dept sponsors * and...both have online parts locators (run by FoMoCo).
Once I find the part number, I type it into one of the sponsors sites, if it comes up "no parts found." (obsolete), I then type the part number into Green Sales' online locator.
Regardless of what I find, I still post the part numbers & the info: parts available & where / or, parts not available.
* DIRECT FORD PARTS (Gaudin Ford-Las Vegas, NV) & Y2KFORDPARTS (Millennium Ford-Seattle)
Note: if using any parts locator = remove the hyphens from the part numbers.
Type them like this: d5dz9597a

Thanks for some more usefull info Bill. I will be calling Green Sales first thing Monday morning. I don't suppose you have any idea what kind of prices I'm looking at from them?
