<HR style="COLOR: #666666" SIZE=1><TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">We have just purchased a 2004 F150 from the car auction in British Columbia, Canada. We are friends with the Dealer who did this for us. When driven at the Auction by our friend, the truck did not ping. When delivered to his car lot and test driven for awhile, he detected a "very quiet hard to hear pinging", didn't think that we'd notice but being a friend, wanted us to know. Because of this, our friend got on the phone with Ford and discussed what he was hearing. They told him, it's normal, would be the camshaft sensor and would replace it for us for $2000.00 and we would have to pay 1/2, ($1000.00). Our friend, then got on the phone with the Auction and raised ****. The Auction then phoned and delt with Ford directly. From this, Ford says the will only make us pay $850.00 if we still have a problem with it. This just all occured yesterday, haven't picked up or paid for truck yet and don't know if we don't claim it, our buddy is left hanging with the truck on his lot or the auction will take it back. We're suppose to be picking it up this evening when I stumbled onto this site!!!!!
Don't know if after reading all this if the camshaft sensor will fix it anyway or if that's even the problem. Do have the option to take out extended Warranty but doesn't sound like people with Warranties are getting helped anyway.
The Truck has 54000K on it and is a 5.4
Any and all thoughts would be very helpful.........PLEASE!!!
