Exhaust smell

Exhaust smell
Every time I drive my truck I smell like exhaust. Doesn't matter if its just a block or two or across town. The longer the trip the worse the smell though. Could it be a cracked manifold?

Could be.. But I'd look elsewhere first..can you hear a leak? Do you have the stock exhaust, and does it run all the way back? What motor? Any exhaust mods?

its a 87 F250 with a 302. I did hear a leak, but I found a loose bolt and when I tightened it that stopped. It's not stock, but the pipe runs from the muffler to about half way down the bed.

If it dumps out under the truck, it is probably drawing into the cab from that, and you will have to have it run out the side, or out the back. It swirls around in the turbulent air under the truck, and draws in through any little opening.
My Suburban did the same thing. I had turndowns, but it sucked into the interior until I had it run out behind the rear wheels...now it's good..

I don't know if you have an air tube from the exhaust pipe up between the cab and the drivers side head possibly to the EGR valve but on my 1996 with a 460 this was the source of a substantial leak and caused the cab to smell like exhaust as it seemed to come right through the firewall. Once this was replaced problem was gone.
