C6 to Later model E4OD

C6 to Later model E4OD
Has any one made the conversion of replacing a stock C6 with a later model E4OD with all of the computer system behind a '78 stock 460 to take advantage of the overdrive? If so, What are the pro's and con's? Thanks for any input.

I've been debating this for a while myself. I understand it's pretty much a bolt-in swap except you need to add some type of shift control such as the Baumann unit (a bit pricey). Any information you get and pass on would be greatly appreciated. My other option is to use (or build) a TCI wide-ratio C6 and keep the present rear gearing. From what I understand, the '85 and later E4OD's are preferred over earlier models.
