Anyone have a pic or detailed description of how the gear indicator cable is attached to the steering column and how I get at it on a 93?
In my 90 it was pretty simple, the column shroud came right off and it was just looped around the bottom of the column and fixed with a screw. It was pretty strong too, held the column in place after I dropped it (and forgot about that cable).
I'm doing a cluster swap this weekend and it's plenty cold and snowy out, so I'd like to take the whole thing inside with me instead of switching the gauges in the truck, although push come to shove, I suppose I could.
Hey vitro . It mounts on right of steering wheel. Remove bottom dash panel and can see it top of that panel and the colonm meet it has and adjuster there. . It is held with I small hex head screw. The take cable loop off will come out.
Pm me you phone # if want and I'll call. I'll be hear till 9 PM .Sorry I thought I gave it to you.
You can also remove 2 screws on each side of indicator (in mid cluster. ) And slip indicator out so you can remove cluster. Good luck
