dealer blew up my truck

well i had that issue about 2 weeks ago were the dealer forgot to tighten the drian plug good after an oil change. then about a month later the drain plug fell out and truck broke down with all the oil spilled across rt109 in medway GREAT. towed the truck back to the dealer they filled the truck back up with oil truck turned on and ran just fine.

Till New Years Eve when i pulled out of the breakfast place and all of a sudden the louded bang ive ever heard followed by the sound of clinking metal jumping across the pavement. truck turned off and rolled into another snowbank thank god not through the red light i was headed for. The truck wont even try and turn over and i get out to see more oil pouring out onto the road.

Again i tow the truck to the Dealer they tell me they wont be able to look at it till Yesterday. then finnaly i get the call for the service write and right off the bat he tells me he is having his insurance guy coming down to look at the Soft Ball size hole i have in the side of my block. Thanks to you guys on here i made sure they documented that they messed up on the oil change cause they did try and just put it down as a complimentary oil change at first but i made sure they added there mistake to the notes.

Just giving you the update on the truck from my last posts

Nope everyone had a better New Years lol

no not really i have 105k on the truck, but the service writer said that they probably would just give me book value for it and junk the truck.

its an 01 F250 extended cab with 105k miles on the truck, i allready paid the dealer for a new tranny in the truck and at this point i would be glad if they give me book value i would make out 5 grand more than what i even paid for the truck to begin with then i can just go and find a nicer one. the truck was pretty beat up from work and such but i did enjoy it alot so i wouldn't mind trying to find another one in better shape.

I don't really want to say the name of the Dealer at this time but if your from mass its the dealer right across from the Patriots stadium.

You had a bad New Years, my clutch went south 3 days before Christmas. Holidays can be bad...

But I had to buy my own replacement...

That sucks! I hope they play square with you. I was on vacation in central Colorado and a dealership cost me a transmission, but refused to take any ownership of their incompitence and to try and fight it out in court from 1k miles away just would have cost me more money so I chalked that $4k up to the painful lessons list and figure they get theirs in the long run.

No, they'll give you book value, put a motor in it and make a chunk of change.
Dealers are swinging at fences these days to get a hold of these 7.3s as there is such a high demand for them in the used market.

How long ago did you fork them the dough for the new tranny? I'd make them add that ON TOP of the book value (maybe minus some depreciation, but hold on to that card if they flat out deny it if it's an older job).
