Hey guys, just curious what kind of mpg you get with different gears. I have 4.10 gears and I am at 12-14mpg. This is my personal truck and I do drive on the freeway a good amount so I am thinking of switching to 3.73 and no higher because I do pull trailers and plow with this truck as well. So what mpg do you get with 3.73? 3.55? and others with 4.10? Thanks alot!
96 F350 CC/LB 4x4 ZF5 4.10's D66 Stage-1's Banks IC and I am getting about 15mpg around town with 37's. on the highway unloaded i have hit as high as 19.
I just switched from 4.10 to 3.55 on my truck and in mixed driving I got 16.8 MPG on three tanks and 18.8 MPG on one tank that was mostly freeway. All tanks were filled to the top of the filler neck.
All of my data before the 3.55s either was towing (I have not towed yet with the 3.55s) or not filler neck to filler neck.
I had 4.10's andwas getting about 13. Put in 3.55's and am getting 16-17. What engine RPM are you getting at 60? I was getting 2500 with 4.10. Now 2100.
Coon, what tires come stock on your truck? I am thinking that all 1 ton trucks with stock setup turn 2k at 60 mph from the factory. Larger tires would account for it, but I think thats where Peak torque was made and considered in the design of the truck. I could be wrong though, its happened before...LOL
