Gear ratio change
I think I am going to go ahead and change my ring and pinion. I'm tired of getting 14mpg with a 5 speed diesel. What kinds of things am I going to need to know to do this swap? I'm not even sure exactly what axles I have.
Assuming I have a 4.10 gear ratio right now, what kind of mpg gains would I be looking at with 3.73 or 3.55?

Well hold on..more factors play into your fuel economy than just your gears. What do u use the truck for? If its used for towing, or just in town use, its not going to help to change gears.

Nah, It's not a townie truck, nor is it a frequent tower, more of an occasional tower. I'm getting 14 mpg highway unloaded ...
According to that link I would only see a .5mpg improvement? How are guys getting 18-20 on these trucks ?
