I have an '00 F-350 dually with a v10 in it, 68k miles on original plugs. Should i be worried?
Sorry didn't mean to start a panic here. Plug popping is something I saw mentioned a lot when I was doing some researching on these trucks/engines and was simply wondering which year it was less of a worry/fixed (i.e. longer threads on the spark plugs). If you change your own plugs look for signs of galling if you don't see any, then make it a habit to use anti sieze and properly torque them and you won't have an issue. The spark plug threads weaken when the plugs are over tightened or corrosion builds up galling the threads and wearing them down over time.
Got my OASIS report this evening. Not a whole lot on it. It appears that it was never back to the dealer after 30K. An accident shows up on a Carfax on Jan 23, 02 and 2ish weeks later it was in to the dealer having interior trim replaced due to fading/color mismatch. I'm guessing there was very little body damage/repair work done if any. I'm going to try moving forward on this one, keep your fingers crossed for me, I'm going to need some luck to make it mine. Thanks again, everyone.
