elec spedo vs mechanical
I am in the process of swaping a zf 5-speed in to a 73F100, the problem I have run into is the doner truck I got the zf from is a 94 and it has no mechanical spedo. Is there a way to convret my truck to electronic? What parts do I need for the sawp and so on, or is there a gear already inside the tailshaft so that I could drill out the provision for the mechanical gear and cable.

Yea me too but all I could find were the later model trannys couldn't beat the price $400.
I would still like to know for sure before I go digging around in there I don't have a manual for it, so if I don't have to open it up I won't.
