pto wont engage
Any help would be great, I just picked up a 1988 4x4 f350 dump truck. I bought it with a bad clutch and just had one put in. I cant get the pto to engage, the cable seems to operate fine but the lever at tranny seems to not engage like there is resistance. I'm doing this with the truck running in nuetral with the clutch in. Am I missing something or are there any common things to check, or is it a matter off pulling the unit off the side of the tranny.

try to engage it with the engine off and if it will engage then disengage and start the truck and try again if it wont with the engine running put it in gear and try to engage by putting it in gear youll be sure the trans isnt turning if it still wont engage at all then its somthing else linkage or pto unit
