Cold White Smoke !

I HAVE A 03 F 250 WITH A 6.0 .It has 103.000 miles.I have started seeing a good bit of white smoke when it cranks on a cold morning after about 5 mins it goes away & the truck runs fine.Is this any reason for concern?

its probably unburnt fuel. incomplete combustion from low temps and some lose of compression. the sooner you drive off, the better it will be for the engine to get up to temp.

that sounds like warm exhaust meeting cold exh pipe making steam and it is normal if you look at it when it happens you can see right thru it many vehicles have done it for ages

Typical cold weather operation for a diesel. Worry about it when you have trouble starting and/or the white smoke gets a lot thicker. Typically, starting without glow plugs when cold will put out a nice white smoke screen.
