Arrow The Breakfast Thread!

I'm tired of Cereal, what else is there? Please post recipes and I will too. I want to wake up and make a new breakfast for at least a month straight.

Right now, I favor "Fancy" French Toast. I use 4 or 5 large eggs, a quick pour of 2%milk, a quick dollop of Vanilla, a dash of Cinnamon, and not quite a 1/4 cup of sugar, mix that all together and use white bread, two slices at a time in the cast iron pan. I get about 6 slices and I do not put any toppings on them, they taste good the way they are.

Cast Iron Forever!!! My stomach doesn't need a non-stick coating!!!

2 cups boiling water, 1 cup slow cooking oats, nuke 1-2 minutes, let stand 10 minutes and eat.

It's not exactly the tastiest breakfast, but it's the healthiest one I know of and I eat it every day.

Not to mention the warm and fuzzy feeling I get after eating it.

Try making French Toast with Italian panettone bread.

This season of the year is the only time it's commonly available.

Go to Waffle House every day for a month. You can have the hash braowns made a different way every time!

Wait, you don't have Waffle House up there, do you? How about IHOP? Denny's?? Nevermind...

Getcha one of them McMuffin makers......It's like a big toaster with the poaching/steaming apparatus on the side........It makes GOOD McMuffins, and it's easy and quick. Everything is done at the same time. Put the english muffin in the toaster part.....put the designated amount of water in the reservoir.....crack an egg into the poacher and put THAT on top of the water reservoir.....Then put a pre-cooked canadian bacon slice on top of that. The lid goes over all of that. Select the appropriate setting (you can just use this as a toaster also), then push the lever......The water/poacher/cooker starts up.....when it's within a couple of minutes of being done, the toaster wires heat up......When the toaster is done, it's ALL done, and put you sandwich together with a slice of american cheese.....Instant McMuffin!!!

It's actually pretty good. You can use the precooked sausage or bacon also, as well as the canadian bacon.

You can find the McMuffin cookers in places like Wal-Mart......They DO work.

Here's the 'contraption', Jake......

Poaches the egg....Healthier......Canadian bacon ain't all bad. You can hard or soft-boil 4 eggs at a time too......Basically the cooking time depends on the amount of water you use from the pre-measured server.

Good tool.......

Now that the holidays are about over, I'll have one of them a couple of times/week.....and furball's oatmeal regimen the rest of the time (haha)......

Anyone else put on a few pounds over the holidays?......
