Just picked up a F350 6.4L 6spd 2008. Lovin the truck so far....up to now I have only run mid-sized trucks so this is kinda cool.
I am sure I am in the wrong place to ask but, maybe someone can redirect me for the next time....
I have the upfitter switches installed by factory, and I am curious on where I tie in to them for auxilliary equipment....
Also, is there a way to tie my hi-idle into one of the 10amp switches and use them to control on/off of the idle feature?
You're one of the few with a 6 speed. I assume you had to order it since most dealers won't even keep one on their lot.
If you don't get any help on the upfitter switches sneak over to the 2003-2007 6.0 diesel section. I know there's several guys that have done what your talking about and the wiring should be very similar.
Cool....i'm gunna tear out the fuse box tomorrow and some of the lower console to see how similar it is, i would think it's identiacal....well see!
And yes....Not many 6spds around....took a while but tracked one down. Only one meeting my requirements in all of canada....according to "Ford computer system"...hahaha
I never have looked at the wiring on the 6.4L but I wouldn't tear into it without research. You will have pass through wires to your left, above the throttle pedal you should have some blunt end wires which would be the one to power to for your high idle.
Oh yeah, don't get me wrong....i USUALLY read up before I do any damage....thou i've been known to dig where i shouldn't....but hey, where's the fun in it then!
