What year 2wd box did you use? Also, what year truck did you bolt it up to? Just wonder if that would work on my 75 F250 4wd. Thanks. A bolt on conversion is just what I'm looking for, I've got Jack for tools to work on mine in Idaho. They're all in Alaska!
Someone said they used a 79 F150 Supercab setup too. Is that the same steering as the regular F150, the inverted T style steering? If so, it worked with stock leaf springs, or were you working on a half ton with coils?
Fordtrucknut used a 2wd box too, and I'm wondering what year box did you use, and if you two used the exact same one? One bolted right on but the other needed the fab work because of that raised lip on the frame? I'm trying to picture what would require what but still a few things aren't quite clear to me.
Seems the 77.5-79 pitman arm is common to both.
Not sure what year and application 2wd box everyone refers to.
The 69 F250 tie rod ends Fordtrucknut used, were those to fab an adjustable draglink or...?
Also unclear, is this an inverted T style steering or...?
If you two had pictures too, that would be awesome!
I made plates that the box bolts to and then the plates bolt to the frame...the box is a 2wd from a 73-79 F-100 to F-350 (All the same)...The Supercab 4x4's use a 77.5 to 79 box like the F-250's (Earlier ones use the Ram and Control Valve setup)....Relatively inexpensive to do for the most part....tie rod ends are 69 F-250 4x4 units with a custom sleeve that is approx. 6 1/2 inches long (Push Pull type steering like a 77.5 to 79)
