can i leave that red line unplugged...i plugged it into the bolt of a clamp and the thing was like a rocket...

as for the lag when accelerating between a steady 40-50mph it was not as noticable. you could hear the intake sucking in hard then all of a sudden i was off...i didn't have to floor it like before to have it downshift to give me the boost. i have an automatic if that helps anyone understand.

as for the soot i called my roommate who has helped me with a lot of the mods and he neglected to tell me he shot diesel fuel all over the place when he put the new fuel filter in...so that soot is prolly just crap stuck to the fuel...i tried wiping everything down best i can.

as for not having the waste gate engaged is there any ramifications?

I'm getting a little confused here

Austin says
"Exhaust back pressure is controlled to provide more heat to the coolant for cab heating...."

does this mean that turning on cab heat impacts mileage?

Note that Jodi at DP says that its required for optimal fueling performance/mileage

So then what is the true function of the EBPV

that catch basin right below the fuel filter is where i found liquid. i'm pretty sure its fuel...im in the process of cleaning all the I/C boots, 6 correct? i got 2 down and 4 more to go. i checked everywhere for an oil leak and i am beginning to think it was the combination of the fuel going everywhere and the CCV. i just put the CCV mod in a month and a half ago, and i really haven't cleaned up the engine at all.

im gonna be removing and wiping a lot of stuff down to neaten up the engine. is there any way to clean out that catch basin below the fuel filter without having to dissasemble everything to gain easy access.

i still need an answer to if i can drive around with the red line to the waste gate plugged into a bolt of a clamp...cuz i can feel the difference but i do not want to break anything.

last question...im considering upgrading to the 6637 mod...what kind of increase in boost, airflow, mileage am i looking at...the filter on fleet filter is dirt cheap so i figured why the hell not.

yes you can keep the red line un hooked..just keep in mind..any thing over 25 lb boost will shorten the life of your turbo.. you may have drain valve orings leaking letting air into the injectors..clean everthing good and keep an eye on it for leaks..

the EBPV is a butter fly in the exhaust side of the turbo..on cold start up it will close to make the motor run harder and it helps warm it up faster giving you heat in the cab faster...the EBPV has nothing to do with custom tuneing..the EBPS is what is used..
