Safety Recall 99S32 - Certain 1999 and 2000 Super Duty F250 and F350 Trucks Fuel System Integrity
i ran the vin for a oases in the 6.0 forum and it showed up there as well.. any one know any thing about this.. it some kind of bracket of some sort..he couldnt tell the whole scoop cause he was too busy...
Ron, several years ago, I got a recall and I think that is what it was called. As best I remember, it was just a retainer strap on the fuel tank to prevent seperation in the event of a crash. I let them do it as they finally sent me a registered letter about it. I guess somewhere, sometime, someone had a wreck and the tank come loose and spilled some that caused a fire and Ford got sued.
I think it was two metal straps that wrapped around the tank and fastened to the frame. Haven't thought much of it until I saw your post. Didn't take them long IIRC. Seems like I just waited on it. I do remember the service manager saying that only a few people were actually having it done.
i told him i just had the tank out.. i hope they dont need to drop it again..they wont pay attenchen to the new fuel line i have there and pinch it..he said it will not take long to fix..hour or so..
