Original build sheet

This has been brought up before, and I did a search (and found nothing of course), so my apologies for bringing it up.

My computer got a virus about a month ago, so I lost all of my favorites, including this website.

I don't know if any of you remember, but a while back there was a post about a website owned by Ford where you could send them your VIN number and they'd mail you a (quite nice) letter with the original build date, all selected options at the time of production, etc. I did this for my Ranger and couldn't have been happier.

Now that I've moved to the Explorer, I'd like to do it once again. But I've no idea what the site is and can't seem to find it.

Anyone happen to know it?

Thank you much.

Go here:
http://www.customersaskford.com/
and send them your VIN, year, model, address, and they will get back to you with a sheet.

Zach, have you sold the ranger yet? Im curious to know what you got/get for it and if it being carbed made it hard to sell?

Heya Scott.

She's still for sale. Had two people come by and look at it today. One guy, who wanted to buy it for his 16 year old daughter as a first car, was a bit concerned about having to teach her to have to drive a carbed stick for her first car (and I don't blame him). He said he would poke around but was still interested. The other guy didn't seem at all turned off by the carb, apparently the greater displacement offset the carb for him.

Either way, three more people going to look at it tommorow, and two more called today. Busy busy busy...

Sounds like the end is near then...

I never heard, what prompted the switch from the ranger to an exploder?

Haha why yes sir it does, it's been flawless since I got it. It's staying in the garage with the other stuff I actually kept out of the truck.

Scott, basically the Ranger had a lot of miles on the body/frame, and with the engine/tranny combo, plus being carbed, RWD, and having a light rear end, I wasn't looking forward to driving it in Durant where it ices. And the high gearing wasn't fun on the highway.

I had actually been looking for a cheapo Honda or the like to just use as a mileage vehicle...drive to/from college, and wherever else my heart led me, but I stumbled across the Explorer first.

Four doors, low mileage, seemingly good engine/tranny combo, loaded, and cheap. I couldn't turn it down. It should last a good while. I loved the Ranger, but I figure it was about time to move from fun to practical for a vehicle.

Look under the passenger side of the front seat, stuffed into the springs.

Ford put a copy of the build sheet there (for decades) when the vehicles were inspected on the final assembly line.

Wow...mine for my Ranger came quickly, within a week and a half or so.

It also interested me, as it didn't match the vehicle I was looking at in front of me. The original truck had a 3.73 axle ratio and automatic tranny, but the truck I got had 3.08s and a manual.

I just wish you could find out the original purchase price, or at least the MRSP with all the options, etc.

I'm waiting on the build sheet for my F250. They've already e-mailed me 3 times, last one said that I should be getting it soon, still no sign of it...we'll see. No big rush I suppose.

I got an email saying they had received my request and were processing it, then another a couple of days later that said it had been mailed. I got it four or five days after that.

As soon as I find the right thing on that website, I'm going to send it in.

NumberDummy, I poked around under the passenger side seat, but the Explorer has that wonderful metal plate under the seat, so I couldn't see crap up in there.

I went to this website and it kept telling me I had entered my VIN
incorrectly but it was the one on my title, my registration, my bill of sale,
my insurance info.
Whats up with that.
