Heater Fan Problem

1992 Explorer, 4.0 auto, the heater fan only works on HIGH. What could this be? How difficult is it to replace the switch, or is there a simpler solution?

The blower resistor is shot, Napa has them for about 20 bucks.

It plugs into a hole in the the plastic heater duct, probably under the hood, but might be under the dash. 4 or 5 wires attached to it.

replaced blower resistor and fan switch on dash still not working. Any ideas what to do next for 1992 explorer

Does the fan work on High speed? The blower motor resistor is out of the circuit for high speed operation, so if it doesn't work on High, then you probably have either a bad blower motor, a blown fuse for the blower motor, or another issue between the fuse and the motor.

Do you have a multimeter or test light so you can test the fuse and test for good power to the blower motor? In this case, a standard incandescent test light would be the best tool for the job.
